Finished work
July 9, 2015 in Calligraphy, Design, Weddings
Way back in 2014, at the end of summer, I was asked by wedding planner NINA weddings to design a stationery suite for one of her couples. She was looking for calligraphy and watercolor invitations, a map of the area, menu cards, place cards, and a program of the day. It was super short notice and I was pretty far in my pregnancy, but I really liked to work with her on this project.

And as I was working on this project and thinking: it might be time to take some pregnancy-leave after this, I got a request from Bloom Wedding, for another watercolor and calligraphy stationery suite, paired with gold lined envelopes with calligraphy addressing. This couple wanted to send their save the dates a year before their destination wedding in Spain. And because I really really wanted to do this, I squeezed it in and finished it right in time before the baby arrived!

Something else I finished just in time was the stationery for Bloom Wedding’s Whimsical Wedding Shoot.

After this I could sit back, put my feet up, knit some baby sweaters and toys and wait. O how I loved those crazy busy weeks and how hard it was to do nothing and count the days. And how I now cannot even remember what it was like to be able to do nothing. Every minute that baby sleeps needs to be spent well now!

2013 was a year of reflection for me. After a year of exploration (2012) I needed time to really think things through. To guide my hopes and dreams in a certain direction. The second half of 2013 I have concretized my business plans and now, at the start of a new year, I feel ready to show it to the world.
Today’s the launch of my new website. I’ve been preparing for and working on this for quite some time now and I must say, I’m pretty darn proud of it! The birth of my website, in a way, is the birth of my creative business as well. I have been dreaming, thinking, doubting and hoping my business for years. Until last year I didn’t have the time and courage to actually make it happen. Well, that has changed.
